May 21 Award lecture

Join us for this year's award lecture! Inspired by a few seemingly insignificant memories and one more recent life-altering event, Bart Moeyaert invites us into his world. The talk will be held on May 21, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the ABF Hus, Sveavägen 41, Stockholm. Admission is free!

“We can all remember some sad episode from our childhood: the time our mother looked away and something happened that could never be undone; the day our father was tired and lost his patience. Even years later, we still remember it; and on our weakest days, we still suffer over it.”

We warmly welcome you to a lecture by Belgian author Bart Moyaert, this year's ALMA laureate! Drawing inspiration from a few, seemingly insignificant memories, and one recent earth-shaking event, Moyaert invites you into his world. He’ll share a cliché he’s heard a few too many times since April 2, 2019 and make an appeal to our careful, attentive and considerate natures.

The title of the talk is “Dep. Ed. Juv.”: a reference to the address on the envelope of a letter that Moyaert’s father, a dementia sufferer, once tried to send to the Belgian Department of Education and Juvenile Affairs.

The talk will be held in English.
