Healing Through Words

The Tamer Institute visited Litteralund to discuss how literature and creativity can help children overcome trauma.

In their every-day work, the Tamer Institute meet and work with children who are coping with the difficulties that arise when living in a conflict area. How can books, reading, and self-expression help these children and teenagers to deal with stress and trauma? And what can others learn from the Tamer Institute model?

These were some of the topics discussed by Swedish Paediatrician Lars H. Gustafsson, member of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award jury, and the Tamer Institute's Abla Nasir, trained councellor and member of the board.
