Presentation at the International Children's Library

The international children's library in Münich was opened after World War Two, as a means of promoting peace and cultural exchange.

Starting in 2009, the library traditionally invites the recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, to present his or her work to the German public.

After a welcome speech by the head librarian Doctor Christiane Raabe, German illustrator Judith Drews will give a lecture on the work and importance of Kitty Crowther. Kitty Crowther will also present her work: some of which titles have already been translated into German, with more to follow.

The illustration above is a detail from Kitty Crowther's Mon ami Jim.
