Starting in 2009, the library traditionally invites the recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, to present his or her work to the German public.
After a welcome speech by the head librarian Doctor Christiane Raabe, German illustrator Judith Drews will give a lecture on the work and importance of Kitty Crowther. Kitty Crowther will also present her work: some of which titles have already been translated into German, with more to follow.
The illustration above is a detail from Kitty Crowther's Mon ami Jim.
